How to build it
- Cut the base to 5″ and the back to 4½″.
- Cut a ¼″-deep groove across the base about 1″ from the front edge, using two saw cuts and a chisel, to stop the phone sliding.
- Bevel the bottom of the back at 15° so it leans back when glued down.
- Glue the back to the rear of the base and clamp it, or drive two screws up through the base from underneath.
- Sand, finish, and add small felt pads under the base.
