Cutting a board narrower (ripping) needs a table saw, circular saw or bandsaw. Without one, we only use boards at full width.

Measure what you have. A "1×4" is really ¾″ × 3½″, and we use the real size.
We lay every project's parts out on your boards, with grain direction and a ⅛″ saw kerf on every cut.
