How to build it
- Cut a 7″ block and mark two staggered rows of hole centers about 1¼″ apart.
- Drill each hole 2″ deep with a ¾″ bit, tilting the drill slightly toward the back so pens lean.
- Clear the chips and sand the top face flat and smooth.
- Round the edges and apply a finish.
- Add felt pads underneath.
